Denna bild visar troligen ett besök av sekonden på Älvsnabben (då tjf FC), kommendörkapten 2.gr Emil Charpentier, hos en högre chef/stabsfunktion i Pearl Harbor, möjligen CINCPAC (Commander-in-Chief Pacific Fleet). I mitten syns ryggen på Charpentier och till höger om honom den svenske marinattachén i Washington, kommendör Nils Gynning. Längst t h i bild syns FC adjutant, fänrik Anders Stävberg.

Text på baksida "Whippet, S.P. #89, one of the finest boats in the American patrol fleet, also one of the speediest. Whippet is 72' long x 12" beam, and is capable of over 28 M.P.H. Her motors are twin 8 cylinder Sterlings totaling 600 H.P. Whippet is owned by Mr. Oliver Gould Jennings, of New York City, and was commanded by his son. She was maintained on patrol duty constantly during the winters of 1917and 1918, and when returned to her owner showed much evidence of having encountered ice floes. Text på baksida "Motor Launches attached to the American Battleship, U.S.S. New York. The vessel on the left is the standardised so-called Captain's gig; that on the right the Admiral's barge, which in this instance is maintained for Admiral Hugh Rodman. The vessel on the right enjoys peculiar distinction as it is credited with having taken President Wilson from the U.S.S. George Washington to the landing in the harbor at Brest; and also when the American Fleet held manouevere at Scotland, this vessel with the King of England, the Prince of Wales, The King of Belgium and many other notables, defeated every motor launch in the harbor. The power plant consists of a single Model of F Medium Speed Sterling, bore 5 1/2 ", dtroke 6 3/4 ", developing 125 H.P. at 1200 R.P.M. The motors have counterbalanced crankshaft, all working parts enclosed, and are equipped with electric starters and electric generators. These vessels are excellent sea boats, and have a speed of 20 knots."
