The motor is equipped with an electric starter and an electric generator which supplies current for the running lights and for charing the starter battery. This vessel has sleeping accomodations for 6 persons. Safety First is a 40' x 9'5" V-bottom cruiser, designed by Wm. H. Hand, Jr., and built by Rocky River Dry Dock Co., Rocky River, Ohio, for Mr. H.M. Hanna, Jr., of Cleveland, Ohio. She is powered with a Model FM, 6 cylinder, 85-125 HP. Sterling. The motor is of the counterbalance crankshaft type Sterling, with a bore of a 5 1/2" and a stroke of 6 3/4". The speed is 32 M.P.H."

Ouananiche - this vessel has sleeping accomodations for 6 persons. The motor is of the counterbalanced crankshaft type Sterling, and is equipped with electric starter and electric generator, the controls for wich are all centered at the steering column. The electric generator supplies the current required for operating the starter and also for the running lights. Cruisers of this type are operated with the same ease of control associated with the modern automobile. Quananiche is 40' long and 10' beam, and has a speed of 18 M.P.H. She was designed by J. Murray Watts of Philadelphia, and built by William Fetterly & Son, of New Orleans, her home port.
