Den amerikanska tunga kryssaren NEW ORLEANS fotograferad i samband med sitt besök i Stockholm i maj 1934. Nummerbeteckning CL-32, senare CA-32. NEW ORLEANS kom att delta i kriget i Stilla havet, bl a vid Pearl Harbor, Coral Sea, Midway och Solomon Islands. Fartyget togs ur aktiv tjänst 1947 och höggs upp 1959.
Frimärke ur Gösta Bodmans filatelistiska motivsamling, påbörjad 1950. Frimärke från New Foundland, 1897. Motiv av Giovanni Cabot (John Cabot): 1451-1498. Italiensk- engelsk sjöfarare o. upptäctsresande. Labradors upptäckare: 1497. "Minnesserie: 400-årsminne av New Foundlands upptäckt 1497-1897. Samt minne av Drottning Victorias sextionde regeringsår."

Text på baksida "Ouananiche, a 40 x 9' cruiser designed by J. Murray Watts, built på Wm. Fetterly & Son, New Orleans, for Mr. Albert Aschaffenburg, New Orleans, motor 1 Model FM, 6 cylinder, 85-125 HP. Sterling, speed 18 1/2 M.P.H. Ouananiche - this vessel has sleeping accomodations for 6 persons. The motor is of the counterbalanced crankshaft type Sterling, and is equipped with electric starter and electric generator, the controls for wich are all centered at the steering column. The electric generator supplies the current required for operating the starter and also for the running lights. Cruisers of this type are operated with the same ease of control associated with the modern automobile. Quananiche is 40' long and 10' beam, and has a speed of 18 M.P.H. She was designed by J. Murray Watts of Philadelphia, and built by William Fetterly & Son, of New Orleans, her home port.
